After leaving Hidra island we headed for Farsund, which is a nice little town between capes of Lista and Lindesnes. The Farsund gjestehavn is very popular among boat folks (maybe partly because it has no harbour fee!) and it has been voted for the best guest harbour of the year in Norway both in 2006 and 2010. Donuts and local newspapers were delivered to harbour guests for free. We stayed there for two nights since the wind was strong. Luckily, the weather was warm so we enjoyed the place very much. From Farsund we continued to beautiful Imsøysundet which s/y Dolphin Dance had already visited when sailing westwards towards Egersund.

We are now in Mandal and will stay here until Monday or Tuesday. We are leaving for Stavanger early on Saturday morning and will rent a car there for a few days to drive around and see the Norwegian fjords.

Farsund

We rounded the Lindesnes cape almost in perfect conditions: swell was light, but there was just enough wind, so we could round the cape under sail.
